This rapid onboarding guide gets you productive with ZaapIT in just 15 minutes. Follow these four essential tasks to master the core workflows.

Install & Setup (5 minutes)
Step 1: Install ZaapIT
- Go to ZaapIT Installation Portal
- Click “Get It Now”
- Select installation org (Production or Sandbox)
- Choose: “Install for All Users”
- Approve API access
- Wait 2-3 minutes for installation
Step 2: Grant Permissions
- Navigate to Setup → Permission Sets
- Find “ZaapIT User”
- Click “Manage Assignments”
- Add users who need ZaapIT access
- Save assignments
Step 3: Verify Installation
- Click App Launcher (9 dots, top left)
- Search for “ZaapIT”
- You should see:
- DEDUP-Manager
- Mass Update
- Auto Convert
- Text Format
- Mass Inline Edit
- Mass Delete
✅ Success Metric: All 6 ZaapIT apps visible in App Launcher
First Duplicate Scan (3 minutes)
- Open DEDUP-Manager from App Launcher
- Select object: Contact
- Choose matching rule: “Email Match”
- Click “Scan for Duplicates”
- Wait for scan to complete (usually 30-60 seconds)
- Review first match group
- Select master record (keep this one)
- Click “Merge Duplicates”
- Confirm merge
✅ Success Metric: First duplicate Contact merged successfully
What Just Happened?
You scanned your Contact database for duplicates, identified match groups, and safely merged duplicate records while preserving all data. Master record retained all information from duplicate.
First Mass Update (4 minutes)
- Open Mass Update from App Launcher
- Select object: Lead
- Choose field to update: Company
- Enter formula:
UPPER(Company) - Set query filter:
Company != null - Click “Preview”
- Review 10 sample records:
Original Updated Acme Corp ACME CORP TechStart Inc TECHSTART INC - Click “Execute Update”
- Monitor progress: “Updating 1,234 records…”
- Success: “1,234 records updated”
✅ Success Metric: Lead Company names converted to uppercase
What Just Happened?
You used a formula UPPER() to standardize all Lead Company names to uppercase across thousands of records in seconds. This demonstrates formula-based bulk updates.
First Lead Conversion (3 minutes)
- Open Auto Convert from App Launcher
- Click “New Rule”
- Name rule: “Auto Convert High Score Leads”
- Set criteria:
Lead_Score__c >= 75 - Configure conversion:
- ✅ Create Account
- ✅ Create Contact
- ✅ Create Opportunity
- ✅ Check for duplicate Contacts (by Email)
- Click “Save & Enable”
- Test with sample Lead:
- Update a Lead’s
Lead_Score__cto 80 - Wait 1-2 minutes
- Verify Lead converted automatically
- Check Contact, Account, Opportunity created
- Update a Lead’s
✅ Success Metric: High-score Lead auto-converted to Contact/Account/Opportunity
What Just Happened?
You created an automation rule that automatically converts qualified Leads when they reach score threshold. Now every Lead scoring 75+ will convert automatically without manual intervention.
